History
Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States Of America, is the person accountable for giving the name. His nickname was "Teddy". On November 14, 1902, Roosevelt welcomed by Mississippi Governor Andrew H. Longino was helping negotiate a dispute between Mississippi and Louisiana. H-e visited a bear hunt with various other predators in Mississippi during his free time. After a long strenuous chase with hounds, a of Roosevelt's attendants cornered, clubbed, and tied an American black bear to your willow tree. Roosevelt came upon the wounded young bear and ordered the mercy killing of the dog, uttered the immortal words, "Spare the bear! I will perhaps not capture a connected animal." The Washington Post ran an cartoon called "Drawing the Line in Mississippi" that is created by the political cartoonist Clifford E. Berryman on November 1-6, 1902. Roosevelt said yes. A business called Butler Brothers and Michtom started initially to mass-produce the 'teddybear.' Inside a year Michtom began his or her own organization called Toy Company and the Perfect Novelty. In the same amount of time in Germany a called Steiff firm produced a bear from Richard Steiff's models.
In March 1903, at the Leipzig Toy Fair, Steiff demonstrated the doll in an display. Hermann Berg who was a customer for George Borgfeldt & Company in Ny found the toy. Raw Materials
The initial teddy bears were made with mohair cloth "fur" and black leather shoe-button eyes. In the 1920s, glass eyes were used. But both button eyes and glass could be pulled off quickly.
